  • He is one of the founding member of the Black Bar Association of Bronx County, where he served the organization as secretary and treasurer, and then as president from 1987 through 1990.

He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Trial Lawyers Care; a not-for- profit organization of lawyers providing free legal services to victims of the 9-11 disaster.
  • HUGH W. CAMPBELL served as the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Thurgood Marshall Junior Mock Trial Program; (which runs a mock trial program for junior high school students)
  • He served as member of the New York State’s Commission on Public Access to Court Records.
  • In April 2004 HUGH W. CAMPBELL was appointed by the Chief Judge of the State of New York to serve on a Commission to examine Solo and Small Law Firm Practice.
  • In 1989 HUGH W. CAMPBELL was appointed by Governor Mario Cuomo to serve on the Governor's Judicial Screening Committee for the First Judicial Department, which includes The Bronx and Manhattan; In 1994 HUGH W. CAMPBELL was re appointed by the governor for another four (4) year term.

CAMPBELL regularly lectures to fellow attorneys for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association, the Bronx County Bar Association, the New Jersey Trial Lawyers Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Black Bar Association of Bronx County. He also makes regular presentations to Churches and Community Groups.

  • Over the years, Hugh W. Campbell has received numerous additional Community Service awards. He also serves as an advisor to community groups, not-for-profits and youth organizations.
  • Hugh W. Campbell is admitted to practice law before the courts of the State of New York, the United States District Courts, for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the United States Supreme Court.
